I have always done a lot of art and have been a member of the Pentre’r Eglwys Art Society (PEAS) for over 12 years. There are 14 members, mostly watercolourists but a few using acrylics, coloured pencils and pastels. Every year we and the other two community art groups run “Paintfest”, an exhibition of our work, and open evening with an art expert discussing our work and refreshments. PEAS also contributes to the Stained Glass Window exhibition in the church in Pontyclun and the Christmas Tree event in Salam Chapel in Church Village.

Another group I belong to is “Art in the Park” in Ynysynharad Park, Pontypridd. I go with Pat, Wendy, Jan and Dee, and Kath, our tutor, provides lots of source material to inspire us. Last term was Botanical art and our next term will be Landscape.

I also go with Wendy, Pauline and Dee to a sketching group in St. Fagans once a month, if the weather is nice we go outside to sketch, otherwise we sketch inside. There are about 20 of us and it is really nice to see what everyone else has done.
